Photos I took in Tazania, East Afrika in 2006. Several different regions were visited: Dar es Salaam, Island of Zanzibar, and Mto Wambu in the Arusha Region. (approx. 22 minutes)

December 31, 2007 (again):
I almost forgot to tell you. Last year when I was in Tanzania, the Lord gave me a verse one morning as I looked over the city of Dar es Salaam:
"The people who sat in darkness have seen a great Light, and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death, Light has dawned." ~ Matthew 4:16, NKJ Version ~
This is the verse I've adopted for my missionary journeys to Afrika.
Another thing I'll mention here is my nickname of "Sister Afrika". When I returned from Tanzania in 2006, one of the brothers in our church called me "Sister Afrika"...so I kept it.
Mungu akubariki! (God bless you!)

Wow! We're at the end of 2007 and heading into 2008. I wonder what glorious things God will do in our lives this year. If we pay attention and don't get too busy with the cares of life, He might just show us some pretty amazing things. As for me, I'll be going on my 2nd missionary trip to Tanzania in June 2008. Can you believe it? Afrika. My Afrika. The place of my childhood dreams.
A note of encouragement to all you dreamers out there: don't give up on your dreams. If they're God-given, they will come to pass. I waited all my life to go to Afrika, and often I thought it would never happen. But God had a plan for me to go, so I did, and I'm going again! Don't give up your dreams. Who knows? In 2008 God may call you to another country as a missionary, too. Or He may have other amazing plans for you. I pray that you'll listen as He speaks to you. Take the time to hear Him...then listen carefully.
Blessings to you in this New Year of 2008!
